What is a Patient Participation Group or PPG?
A Patient Participation Group (PPG) is a group of people who are patients of a GP surgery and want to help it work as well as it can for patients, doctors and staff. The NHS requires every practice to have a PPG. To help your Primary Care Network to benefit from the benefits of working closely with patients to improve and develop services, we also have a PPG across our PCN which we call our Network PPG.
How can I join the Network PPG?
Currently the Network PPG is formed from the Chairs of the individual GP surgery PPGs in our PCN. If you are not already part of your GP surgery’s PPG, then you should contact your GP surgery to join. On your GP surgery website, you can usually find information on how to join the PPG under ‘surgery information’, or by entering ‘PPG’ in the search bar. Alternatively, you can contact your GP surgery during the afternoon when it will usually be less busy with urgent medical queries. If you are part of your PPG, speak to the Chair to understand how to get more involved.
